The Planning Commission met this morning at City Hall to vote on turning over ordinances to the Council for an open-forum meeting. The Chickasaw Garden Club met at 1:00 PM at Pintolis in Satsuma for our final meeting of the year and lunch. Todays speaker was Debbie Harbin who suggested that the Garden Club help with the upcoming American Cancer Society drive by forming a team. Nell Barnes presented the History of 2009 book to Marilyn Jones, our vice president who was sitting in for Ervin Dailey, president, absent from the meeting. Marilyn read the monthly reports and the years projects acheived this year by the Club.
Tonight we have a meeting of the Commercial Development Board where we will vote on "The Shop", an automotive repair business wishing to locate at 550 Thompson Blvd. Tonights speaker is Green Suttles from Gulf States Engineering, an expert in Industrial and Commercial planning.
He is responsible for picking site locations for EADS, Carnival Cruise Lines and Bass Pro Shop.
