This morning the Chamber Of Commerce approved the printing of new city maps for Chickasaw with included ads for merchants allowing us to offset the costs. They will be distributed to individuals, churches, businesses and welcome stations around the state at no cost. This will give us an opportunity to promote places of interest to tourists as well as touting our port facility, and canoe and kayaking launch at Brooks Park. A committee was appointed to determine the marketing and procurement of the advertising. Today's meeting was sponsored by the Chickasaw Historic Society and our speaker was Mary Shell from Alabama's Historic Commission. A very nice lady, who reminded us that we should be applying for their yearly grants. One of the highlights of the meeting was the chambers opportunity to award a $50. savings bond to Mike Lin, an exemplary student at Chickasaw Math and Science School. Mikes teacher, Cassia and principal, Michelle were also presented with over $50. in school supplies, donated by National Audio and Bay Coast Consulting. Our next meeting is November 19th and tonight the Municipal Dinner is at the Greyhound Race Track in Theodore.
