March 12, 2009

Tonight we met in the cafeteria of Chickasaw Math & Science School where we listened to Michelle Adams, Principal and the president of the PTA. Both made a
calm, albeit passioned plea to sign petitions and attend any hearings to be held concerning the fate of this 100 year old institution. There was a power-point presentation and an opportunity to ask questions or give opinions. Exofficio
Mayor Jim Trout, Councilman Adam Bourne and Councilman Ross Naze offered sage advise and joined in the rally to keep the school in its present capacity as an elementary learning center. Deborah and I spoke positively about the facility before she had to adjourn to her North Mobile Garden Club meeting.
