Kiwanis Club today was our first of the month business meeting. We discussed and voted on the design for the tee-shirt and decided on awards and food for the run. It was also our quarterly presentation of the Police Award. Shawn Chapman was given a plaque for his handling of two illegal aliens from the Dominican Republic. He had heard about them stowing away on a ship docked at the Port Of Chickasaw. When his neighbor called him on his day-off to inform him that two men had just entered his backyard greenhouse, Shawn surprised the men and placed them under arrest. One of the men escaped, but his quick thinking helped round up and deport the other alien.
