Our Kiwanis meeting this morning gave me a chance to bring my son, Mark, back for a second visit. Mark spoke on the pharmaceutical industry and its struggle to bring new drugs to market. "Just stumbling into a new drug by random experimentation has almost come to a halt", Mark assured us and now is more dependent on molecular study. Many of the drugs advertised on television are "bandaids" and do not actually stop the disease.
