This morning I met three of my friends from the Knights of Columbus down at Lowe's on the service road at 10:30 AM to buy 2x6" lumber and nails to erect a wall previously blown down by Hurricane Katrina. The wall is part of a home owned by one of our elderly parishioners of the church. We will rebuild it tomorrow morning at 8:00 AM. Last night we attended a municipal dinner in Bayou La Batre. Absolutely fabulous, gigantic shrimp and catfish were served along with a chance to converse with other city officials and board members. Tomorrow, at some point in the schedule I will check in on the Tomato Walk in Burrell Park and the Coastal Clean-Up in Brooks Park. Everyone is welcome and it the coolest way I know of to pick up a free tee-shirt and lunch, just for picking up a little trash. In fact, you may have time to talk a little trash.
