Today was the joint chamber meeting with Saraland at the J.C. Davis auditorium. It was catered by Catfish Junction and the speaker was Rep. Randy Davis who spoke about the financial problems which have plagued the Southern States including Alabama. The School system has maxed out it's $600,000 "rainy-day" fund and maxed out $400,000 more. Randy is pushing a bill which should help out with the reluctance of insurance companies to cover wind damage during hurricanes and tropical storms. Special recognition was given to Saraland mayor, Dr. Rubenstein and chamber president Mandy Whigham. Pictures are Dr. Rubenstein and Mayor Pittman and Randy Davis.
