Tonight we attended the Mobile Symphony presentation of Mendelssohn"s violin concerto starring Chee Yun from our sister city in Japan. She was marvelous, playing a Stradivarius violin and receiving several encores. The second half of the evening was Tchaikovsky's Sixth Symphony (Pathetique) which was his last. He died nine weeks after completing the piece. Pictured are Chee Yun and conductor Scott Speck honoring the bassoon section.
