Tonight was Mobile Symphony evening at the Saenger Theatre with Emil de Cou conducting. The Symphony in D minor by Franck and L'Apres-midi by Debussy took us til intermission. After the wine and bathroom break, we got to hear Ravel's Bolero which the conductor explained to the audience: "Sometimes when a man and a woman love each other very much, they do the Bolero"
Before going downtown this late afternoon there was an extremely bad automobile wreck on Highway 158 in Saraland just before Catfish Junction. I was right behind Henry Phillips and we both had to turn around because they shut down 158 from both directions.
