Today at 1:30PM the Chickasaw Port Consortium met at Southern Ionics to discuss the Norfolk Southern Railroad, the Local Emergency Planning Committee and the water-main that was severed yesterday while work was being done to Mike Box bridge. We will tentatively meet again Oct. 20, 2011.

Kiwanis lunch today we had Tim Creamer from Mobile Association for The Blind. He talked about the quality of all the products and their manufacture being by people with limited eyesight. They not only offer mops and brooms, but engraving and phone services.

This afternoon, last years Citizen of the Year Nell Autry threw a party for this years winner, Stephanie Stewart. The Civic Center was teaming with members of the Club plus dignitaries such as Councilmen and Chamber Members. The above picture is of past Citizens of The Year. Punch, sandwiches and cake was served.

Charles and Margaret Czajkowski donated a beautiful antique crucifix for the Parish Hall (cafeteria) which Frank Coate helped hang. Tonight I led a meeting of the Parish Council where we started planning for the Fall Picnic.

Tuesday we had a Chickasaw Garden Club meeting where the program was on roses and we continued our disscussion on a "Welcome To Chickasaw" sign at Wm. Brooks Park. We want tp incorporate the flag pole area as part of the sign. Nell Barnes was the host for food and she provided delicious chicken salad sandwiches and coconut cake.

After our Knights meeting this morning, we invited Sharon Cooper, wife of our departed brother Jim Cooper, and her friends along with the Ladies Auxiliary to
attend a prayer for blessing by our Chaplin, Jim Bullock. The prayer was before we unveiled the brass plaque on the door inscribed: "The James A. Cooper Room" dedicated to his faithful work as a Knight and his service as a Saraland Policeman.
